Many people do a "Project 365" on flickr. I am doing the "Project 20,000+" , and I am around day 7,500 now.

I've been shooting one picture a day since 1989. I started on January 3, 1989 and continued shooting Polaroids until December 31 2000. That's 4,381 Polaroids.

Then I changed to medium format 6x7 slides, (later 6x4.5) mounted on light boxes.

I am now shooting mainly with a Leica M3, a Leica MP, an Olympus PEN FT and a Toyo 4x5 large format camera. I do my own B&W processing.

I am planning to continue this journal until I die (hopefully a few more decades...)

I will spare you the 6500+ days that have already gone by before going online (with exception of a few shots that I have uploaded at the beginning of my stream), but starting January 1st 2007, I am posting the photos here: one upload a day. I also have a blog where I talk about the events of the day. If you want to know the story behind the pictures, please visit my blog .

This polaroid (Day 1) is the first photo of the diary, and it was shot on Tuesday, 3 January, 1989. I originally wanted to do this for one year, but since I did not find a good reason to stop, I just kept going.

Since I am a working with film, I am sometimes behind schedule with my uploads and then have to upload several days at once. I hope you understand.

- May I kindly ask not to use my work without contacting me

- Please no awards / logos / animated gifs - I will remove them

- since stopping the ususal flickr vanity game of exchanging comments as favours sometime in 2007, my views have dropped dramatically, which is great because I now know that the people that come to my place come here because they have a genuine interest in my work.

I do appreciate your honest comment, but please do not expect me to comment back as a "thank you" . On the other hand, if you get a comment from me, it comes from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you very much for visiting my photostream.

"The most amazing thing about one pic a day is that he brings his camera into his life and document his life in various form. I think this needs a very open mind and heart to do that. It is very hard for me, but he made it. That is one of the reasons I came back to check his images daily. Great job !!!"
