My Flickr name, Chesnimages, is derived from a Wallowa County place name, Chesnimnus, which is a corruption of a Nee-Mee-Poo (Nez Perce) word meaning "where the Hawthorns grow". It's an area I spend a fair amount of time in each year, and, hey, the name wasn't taken!

I'm a trained field Botanist, sometimes working as a contractor for various agencies; an avid Telemark skier and hiker/mountaineer.

I also work as a brewery wright at Terminal Gravity Brewing, Inc. It's good work if you can find it.

My home is Enterprise, in the far upper-right-hand corner of Oregon, nestled between the Wallowa Mountains and Hell's Canyon of the Snake River.

These images were taken with Nikon Digital SLRs, a D100 (6 mpx) starting in 2004, a D200 (10.2 mpx) after September of 2006. A few older images were captured on film and scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 4000.

All images are available for purchase, with file sizes up to 38 or 57 megabytes, depending on camera. E-mail me if something strikes your fancy. Prints up to 12 X 18 inches (Super-B) and panoramics up to 12 X 40 inches, printed on archival paper with an Epson 2200 printer, are available from me.

Unfortunately, if you have no images of your own, I will block your access to mine. I have recently become aware that marking an image as "Favorite" is being used by folks who wish to use an image without permission--"image harvesting".
