I am a Chartered Structural Engineer living in Oxford, UK. My main photographic interest is in railway photography, but I like landscape photography too but sometimes lack the time or patience.
I have been taking Railway Photographs on and off for 30 years. The 1980's was very busy and I travelled the country concentrating mainly on British Rail using Black and White using a Canon A1 and AE1P. I am slowly digitising my Black and White back-catalogue by scanning negatives.
In recent times I have been photographing preserved steam and modern trains using digital compacts and 35mm SLR. Whilst the quantity of photographs being taken has reduced, I have been trying harder to take the shots at the right location with good lighting - ' less is more' so to speak.
My style of railway photography has not changed over the years and my photographs try to show the landscape as much as the train.
I have pages up and running on Fotopic showing steam railways and modern trains, see link below, but plan to bring these into Flickr in time.
I hope to add some more general photographs, landscapes and modern railways to this web space.

As of March 2011, I am the proud owner of a Nikon D80 digital SLR, I am looking forward to an increase in the quality of my shots on Flickr. Now Pro on Flickr 7th June 2011.
