YDance (Scottish Youth Dance) is the National Youth Dance Agency for Scotland. We aim to encourage young people aged 3 to 21 to get active and to realise their potential as individuals through dance.

We work in partnership with a range of agencies including the Scottish Arts Council, SportScotland, Local Authorities and the Scottish Executive Health Improvement Strategy Division, addressing a range of objectives – creativity, artistic development, increasing physical activity, improving health, personal and social development.
Projects include Free To Dance (getting teenage girls in Glasgow, Ayrshire & Orkney moving), Dance in Schools Initiative, the Big Lottery Project and a selection of holiday programmes.

Project Y is our dance company for young people aged 16 to 21. Created to bridge the gap between local dance classes/youth dance groups and professional training the participants spend 4 weeks during the summer holidays and tour to venues across Scotland.

We offer a selection of resources to help educational professionals and group leaders teach dance with young people including a range of interactive and resource based CD-ROMs and in-service training programmes.

We create productions specifically for young people and tour them into schools and arts venues. These productions are supported by an extensive workshop programme and production specific resources.
