After a year of reflection, investigations, discoveries, encounters and unforgettable moments, we intend to formalize our compromises with the civil society and the Viana do Castelo region, constituted on 04 April 2008, Guarda-rios do Lima – Association for valorization and promotion of the environmental patrimony of the Lima River Estuary.

This Association (a) has as the principal objective, to protect, divulge the Environmental Patrimony of the Lima Estuary and (b) has it’s main headquarters are situated in Cardielos, Viana do Castelo – Portugal.

In our opinion the contacts and relationships obtained through Flicker (avesdeportugal group) were decisive and structural in this short walk that has been proportioned and in this aspect is greatly valued and appreciated.

Após um ano de reflexões, pesquisas, descobertas, encontros e momentos inesquecíveis, entendemos formalizar o nosso compromisso com a sociedade civil e a região de Viana do Castelo, constituindo, no dia 4 de Abril de 2008, a GUARDA-RIOS DO LIMA - Associação para a Valorização e Promoção do Património Ambiental do Estuário do Lima.
Esta associação (a) tem por objectivo principal, proteger, divulgar e valorizar o património ambiental do Estuário do Lima e (b) tem a sua sede social em Cardielos, Viana do Castelo.

Entendemos que as relações e contactos estabelecidos através do flickr (grupo Aves de Portugal) foram estruturantes e decisivos nesta curta caminhada, aspecto que muito valorizamos e apreciamos.

CURIOSITIES REGARDING THE COLORS AND GRAPHICS OF THE GUARDA-RIOS LOGOTYPE
a)The orange color, on the top superior sphere, represents the characteristic colors of a beautiful sunset of the Lima River Estuary.
b)The blue color in the inter-medium part of the sphere, symbolizes the Lima river,
c)The green color in the inferior part of the sphere, symbolizes the green fields that surround the Lima river,
d)The “Guarda-Rios” (Kingfisher) figure was chosen because his image transmits the life, the colors and beauty that are the main characteristics of the Lima River Estuary.

CURIOSIDADES SOBRE AS CORES E GRAFISMO DO LOGOTIPO DA GUARDA-RIOS DO LIMA
a) A cor alaranjada, na parte superior da esfera, representa as cores características de um por do sol no Estuário do RioLima;
b) A cor azul, na parte intermédia da esfera, simboliza o RioLima;
c) A cor verde na parte inferior da esfera, simboliza os campos verdejantes do Estuário do Rio-Lima;
d) A figura do Guarda-Rios foi escolhida porque a sua imagem transmite a vida, as cores e a beleza que caracterizam o Estuário do Rio Lima
