I have always combined my photography subject matter with whatever the rest of the family are involved in (being involved in sports takes up a lot of time) and am now addicted to dancesport photography. I enjoy the fact that both myself and the dancers are passionate about what we are doing. It is such a buzz to nail a shot and i take great pride in going for each shot at precisely the right moment and can not allow myself the 'machine gun approach'. After 8 years of shooting Dancesport i have developed a knack for pre-empting 'that moment'. Keeps me keen and gets the adrenelin pumping! I shoot mostly on 1/60 and rely on getting the shot as the dancers are at the peak of their movement and in that split second before their movement retracts. I was told about this Flickr site while i was bemoaning the frustration i was experiencing on my web site with very (painfully) slow uploading and the added bonus is being in like company. Feels nice to be understood!
