If you would like to use one of my photos it's easiest to contact me direct at aaaardvark@internode.on.net or via flickr mail. Otherwise you can use the Getty process but I haven't found it to be so easy.


My photos are now 'all rights reserved' since I do sell some to put food on the table. Normally I've no problem with free use of my images as source material for other works, for use on non-profit websites, academic work, homework etc but please ask first.

I intend to live forever -- so far, so good!

Favourite camera ever was the Nikon FE2. Now a Canon owner: 300D > 20D (broke) > 40D for a week then returned > 30D (broke) > 50D (ugh) and now 7D. Lenses include Canon 17-40, 24-105, 400/5.6, 70-300 IS, 100/2.8 macro, 100-400, 500/4 and Tokina 12-24.

I like all kinds of photos, which means I hover between a (no-doubt) fine eclectic taste and thoughtless indiscriminance. Current enthusiasms are for birds, panoramas, birds, landscapes, and birds. I seem to have become addicted to bird photography, which is better than some of the alternatives. I guess.

Special photographic interests apart from the above include a desire to create photos that reflect what the eye sees, better than what comes straight out of the camera. This is technical but reflects the difference in contrast between real life observation and a paper or screen representation, and the difference between effective focal depth seen by eye and what the camera does.
