my name is isabelle merkel, everybody calls me isi.

since 2003 i'm a lampworker and since 2005 a publisher. i do glassbeads, teach doing this and i publish a magazine about lampworked glassbeads (toghether with a friend) here in germany: VorsichtGlas

i have a hubby, four grown-up kids and two dogs, a house to keep, a big garden - wicked garden - well, you would call it wilderness. we simply don't have the time to do that garden.

for the magazine i have to do many jobs, like writing articles, doing step-by-step-tutorials, taking pictures of beads or people, or factories we visit - the such. it's great, 'cause these are things i like to do. so - i have a huge load of work - but i love it.

well - except the house :-( i'm definitely not the typical housewife. i got just better things to do than cleaning.

if i don't work for our magazine, and if i don't teach the how-to's of beadmaking, i love to be out in the fields and woods with hubby and doggies. we live in rural south germany in a beautiful landscape.

my latest interest is the guitar, i just started to take lessons. it's hard - but fun. and it seems to be right. i sing since i could talk, and my mom and my grandpa were good musicians. so - i follow the tradition :-)

all in all - i lead a happy life. come on in and see!
