I discovered digital photography in 2006. A reason to get out of the studio, ( I'm a painter) and re-connected with people and the daily life around me here in Montreal . Flickr is my daily visual blog, a story book of pictures.A great way to armchair travel and make friends. Some of these contacts resulted in an invitation to re-visit India and go on a photoshoot in the Western ghats. Hosted by these kind strangers in their homes in Mumbai and Sangli I received such gracious hospitality I was at times overwhelmed. Forever grateful, Tilak in Mumbai , Dilip and family in Sangli. The next year I received a request for use of a photo to represent the "ordinary" women of India in an exhibition in Indira Ghandi's garden in Delhi. It was re-shown early this year at India International and I was able to be present. In Nov. 09 four photos off Flickr were chosen to be in another exhibition. I attended the days celebrations with music and dancing ...outside , once again in Indhira Ghandi's garden in Delhi. You can plan anything outside It stops raining around September and doesn't start again until the monsoon in June. India is now my second home.

2007- my camera took me on a 3 months extraordinary voyage through India.
2008 - Flickr friends invited me back to India to go on a photo shoot with them. 5 months in India and Nepal.
2009 - 2010 back in India

This is truly an extraordinary world we live in. I feel so lucky to be able to explore part of it and honoured to be able to show and share with you some of the beautiful people and places I discover on my wanderings.
Thanks to Bob at bigHugeLabs for posting all my pics on Explore at Christmas and again on April Fool's day. Fun! and an honour.

    Maggie's World... says:

"Artful, colourful and truthful, are words that come to mind when I think of Angela's photography. She catches the moment and holds it close, so there is warmth and touch in her work. Her epic Indian and Nepali journey brought out brilliant pieces. Always happy to follow her keen eye along her path..."
