I am what most consider a "flower-child", "tree-hugger", "animal advocate" and my one wish would be World Peace.

Before joining Flickr, I had come to depend on "automatic" too much and seem to have forgot what fantastic results I used to get using my skills that I had learned on "manual". That is now changing!

I have always loved Photography since I was a little kid and dreamed of one day being a photographer for National Geographic.

Everything I have learned has been self-taught. I have used what seems like a million rolls of film. I have also spent countless hours reading every book about phototgraphy that I could get my hands on while trying to take what I have learned and applying to my photography.

I own three 35mm cameras....two Minolta X-7A's and one Canon Rebel. I have been playing around with a small Nikon Coolpix digital point and shoot on occasion and also now have a new Canon XTi DSLR.

No matter how many cameras I own though, as long as film is still available I will still continue to shoot with it.
I do not use any computer enhancements on my photos....what you see is what I shoot. With the exception of maybe to sharpen and brighten image when transferring from photo to scanner to computer or slight cropping due to only having a kit lens and a 75-300mm stock zoom lens.

I am not professional by any means. I mostly enjoy Nature Photography and shooting the antics of my 4-legged family members.

Humor is a big factor in my life and I try to find some in everything that is thrown my way in life. I'm not afraid to laugh at myself and will even share all the humiliating situations (purely by accident) that I have put myself into.
I have made some amazing friends here on Flickr and plan on keeping them for many years to come.

"It's clear from Dot65's photo stream that she is not only very flexible in her approach to different subjects she also has a keen eye for lighting and works hard to "get it right" in the camera.
Dot65 is one of the few folks I know on flickr that also uses film. The results speak for themselves. Browse her photos and you'll quickly become aware of her love of animals - especially dogs. She's her own worst critic, more so than most people and strives to make the good even better and the better best. Dot - thanks for your many comments, for your humor, for sharing your images which inspire me in my own photography and for caring for all those dogs!"

"Dot is seriously one of my closest Flickr friends. I know I can always count on her for an honest comment and a good chat. I admire her work, especially since she was working with film and is trying out digital now. I am very impressed with her shots on film (especially since she did no post work on them and they are so professional) and she is doing a magnificent job with digital. I am glad she decided to give it a try.
I am always glad to see her put up new shots and I am very thankful that she shares her knowledge of photography with us.
Aside from her great talent, she is a very caring person and I am glad to be able to have her as a friend.
