Gear:

Relatively inexpensive. (a "kid's toy" someone once called it)
Canon 300mm f4 L IS + 1 .4TC + Canon 50D + 580 ex flash
w' flash extender (flash does not make your photos better)

Approach:

I'm not a photographer, I'm a birder with a camera.
