Insomniac_D says:
"I've been introduced to Trisk and his work in only fits and starts over the course of my own rather sporadic fits of Flickr-itis, but from what I've seen, there's poetry not only in his photos and in his words but--I would hazard a guess--in his soul as well.
Needs to add "sweetheart" and "Renaissance Man" to his list of descriptors. (Oh, and maybe "fricking talented.") :)

Bakerina says:
"Joel is a friend to every thinking writer, photographer, swordsperson, cook and domestic sensualist in the world. Long may he wave."

Morpheus - Creator Of Worlds says:
"Joel's photography is about his world, captured through the all seeing blind eye of a camera lens, that records a scene, but in truth shows nothing of it. To the casual viewer it is often disjointed frames and perspectives; random views and momentarily frozen slices of time that say very little of themselves. To the viewer more given to reflection and the search for depth, one begins to see that these frozen slices of time show much of the rest of the tableau of experience that they were sliced out of. One can begin to infer the relationships and conversations, the personalities and interactions, all the things that take a photograph and transform it from an accumulation of color and light and make it into a living thing. And Joel, so skillfully, gives us that slice of time that lets those of us who were there say "Remember when?" and those outside still understand exactly what that moment was to us."

Frecklefaced Mall says:
"I can describe Joel:
Handsome. Cool. Funny. Mysterious. Passionate. Serious. Sweet. Great Photographer. Good Chef.
I am very proud of Joel. Because he is a good father. He always take care of his beautiful son Jax, hugs him gently, watches over him... I'm sure Jax really loves his loving dad Joel at all times.
Sigh, Joel and Jax are filled with happiness, love, gentlesness, peace and kindness. I love seeing his beautiful photos."19th August, 2005

InkyStar says:
"With self-portraits that capture his strength and his tenderness, I get lost in his art.
The added dimension of his voice, the storyteller comes across and I find myself drawn back to the fireside to listen to his tales.
He is a Summoner of emotions, of images and desires. Not only desires of the flesh but of the spirit and the heart.
I am honored to be counted a friend by this talented and caring soul. Xx"6th July, 2005

Plurp says:
"It was not the photograph of the eye that was so disturbing, though it was unusual to find such a large, extreme close-up of a human eye as the only artistic work in a small, brightly painted bedroom. No, it was not the photograph, not the eye. No. It was what was *reflected* in the eye."

Terri Lynn says:
"Joel's self portraits are the perfect recipe for seduction:
1. Mystery
2. Humor
3. Playfulness
4. subtlety
5. Doesn't hurt that he's quite the
looker too! ;)"17th February, 2005

The Bex says:
"A good ol' southern boy with an eye for photography, a sharp mind and an elaborate vocabulary. Amazing writer, photographer, and (dead sexy) shameless male hussy ;-)"

"A very mad genius in his own right. Will surely conquer the world. Oh, and he's pretty damned hawt, too."
