I'm interested in photography as a way of portraying national identity and landscape.

Though I've lived in North America and traveled in Europe - seeing many wonderful places - I was born and grew up in England and that has shaped how I see the world.

Well known artists - Paul Nash & John Piper, less well known - Eric Ravilious and popular - S R Badmin - have all influenced my perceptions. I'm glad that in recent years David Hockney, after the wonderful Californian paintings, has returned to portraying his native landscape

Our present land and townscapes go beyond their vision.
