Marvin Beatty
Photography's photostream
|
I have been shooting digitally (with Nikon cameras and lenses) for about eight years. Though not my full-time job, I am rarely without my camera. Reproducing what my eye took in during the time the image was originally captured is always my main objective, but from time to time I enjoy adding an artistic flare.
I have explored much of British Columbia (and a little outside North America) and prefer immersion style shooting versus going after the “Trophy Shot.” I find this approach opens my mind to better compositions and allows for more focus while shooting. I strive for crisp, clear images that are print-ready and will also supply web-friendly images to your specifications.
Clients and places published include: Kamloops Daily News, Kamloops This Week, The Tyee, BC Outdoors Magazine, Currents Magazine, Okanagan Vacation Guide, Hummingbird Beach Resort, U.S. Horsetrainer.com, Pacific Salmon Foundation and more...
I am also an Exclusive Artist with www.istockphoto.com/marvinbeatty, a subsidiary of Getty Images.
I both lose and find myself in photography. I hope you enjoy these images.

Quick things:
-----------------
- Sorry if i deleted anyone's favorites but I have significantly trimmed my flickr images. After eight years, I felt many no longer represented my present-day photography very well.
- No animals in my photostream are in captivity or were ever harmed by my taking photographs of them. They are all wild...just the way I like 'em.
- I'm happy to make you a contact but if you don't post something at least once every 12 months, sorry....gonzo.
- I've trimmed my group list to under 25 and it's staying below that number. There's no point belonging to a group just to post 1 image and forget about it. I'd much rather be involved in groups that have themes that interest me and that I shoot often.

Spatial Mongrel says:
"Marvin is one of those guys whose photography always pushes your own work, because it's so good. He finds lighting, angles and shapes that thrill me and make me want to go out and find the same thing and try for a shot that's half as good! He's a tremendous asset to the flickr community, and well worth all the free beer anyone can buy him. Provided of course, that he buys back! I get the feeling he would though. He's just that kind of guy. Go Go InstaMarv!"
