"mark velentine fa una fotografia che ho sempre sognato di fare: l'astratto. Ma si devono avere i numeri, per manipolare questa tecnica espressiva. Si deve avere il dono della sintesi. Si deve avere la capacità dello scultore su marmo "togliere". Si deve avere il "sentire" naturale. Tutte qualità che mark ha, e io no. Ho una particolare predilezione, per questo genere di artisti, di coloro, cioè, che servendosi, indifferentemente, della fotografia o della pittura, svolgono "racconti" attraverso i "segni" dell'emozione, del celato, del atavico. Così, ti ritrovi a volare, attraverso pareti inconsistenti, oppure, a mescolarti nel brodo primordiale del non conscio. E questo, lo dico senza infingimenti, mi provoca un moto di invidia, ma anche di una sincera ammirazione. Certo, ognuno di noi trova la sua strada, o anche no, e se non sei un'astrattista, non lo puoi certo diventare, però, chi ama l'arte, chi sa riconoscere un'artista e il suo valore, aspirerebbe, solo a titolo di "prova" di riuscire almeno per una volta, a esprimersi nella maniera di mark. Non capendo che non è una questione tecnica, o, almeno, non solo, è soprattutto avere la capacità di concentrare lo sguardo su l'essenziale e, questa, è un'arte che appartiene a pochi; marck, è uno di loro."
