I have been taking photographs since I was about ten years old. I became more interested when I was in my late teens studying at art school in London. I bought a Pentax P30 and as time went on I started using slide film. As a musician in London I became fascinated with stage photography and used to photograph musicians in London jazz clubs. Still being an enthusiast, I was happy to take on commissions for musicians for flyer's and promotional literature. However, it became too costly as I was using the excellent Joe's Basement in Wardore Street for printing.
While traveling in India and Canada, during the early 90's I grew more interested in portraits and general street scenes.
Studio work with L'Uomo Vogue, London, further enhanced my approach with professional photography. I traveled to the USA and Mexico where I stayed for three years visiting indigenous tribes in some of the most remote locations possible. I was studying pre-hispanic music while taking photographs.
When digital hit the streets, I didn't hesitate to buy a Nikon D70 and a Nikon D2Xs. Now, I photograph a variety of subjects with these cameras. This year I have been photographing buildings in New York, scientists in Australia and street scenes in Hong Kong. I am now freelance, and my work is sent to stock photography companies in London.
