I've begun adding to this as I think of stuff, so the stuff closest to the top is the newest additions.

Still catching up to the present. Ummm... Went and worked in Papua New Guinea from mid to late 70's, that was an experience for a teen kid going it alone lemme tell you.

When I came back to Australia I worked in the Northwest in mining communications, got my first computer, and finally moved south to Perth where I've stuck ever since. Which is surprising because I sat down a few years ago and realised that I've moved house more than I'd had birthdays at that time, which might have somethign to do with a lot of Romany blood in both my parents, dunno... hehehe...

Have just finished having a room added to the house, had to get builders as I have emphysema and can't do heavy work as I run out of breath real easily. It's annoying and it will kill me but that's what smoking will do for ya.

I've always been a reasonable cook and manage to get along with European, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, African, and Asian cooking pretty well, so meals at my place are never boring.

And I also enjoy going out to dinners where I don't have to cook or wash the dishes, so you'll find a fair few restaurant pictures in my collection.

Born in Vienna Austria, we moved to Bahrain Island in the Persian Gulf in the early 60's and I loved it there. Then we moved to Australia and I loved that too. After high school I went to Papua New Guinea for five years and loved that as well. Now I am back in Western Australia and I love that too. But I keep getting wanderlust and wanting to up stakes and visit someplace new.

Unfortunately my finances don't always let me just do that, so I'm sinking some money into a house hoping it will finance some travel before I slow down to old age... hehehe

Just been looking at photos from the middle east, it's so scary - when I was a little boy, we lived on Bahrain Is and I played with Ibrahim (whose father Sheikh Isa my dad was working for) and there was Manama which seemed so wonderfully modern to me as a kid back then...

Now I look with older eyes and I'm always amazed at how the natural beauty of the land and modern designs and materials have been woven together, and I vow to come back for a visit one day, see how much it's all changed.
