Mask says:
"The intersection of a pre-industrial age world view of nature and the dawning of advertising is the ne plus ultra for Mewseum’s floral paintings. At the same time, coloristically and compositionally, his work is a blend of formal/classical and modern painterly styles as noted by loose brush work and tight, perfectionistic draftsman–like contours. The primary object of his large paintings, reflect his interest in early botanical portraiture, mostly the style in which the botanicals are portrayed. Very much like the early masters who copied great works of art, Mewseum copies, for the same reason…he strives to perfect his representation of form. But Mueseum accomplishes more than this. With his juxtaposition of corporate brand images, pieces of discarded packaging, he playfully and in a formal artful way mocks commercialism, and asks us to decide which is more important, more beautiful…a portrait of nature or a billboard?"
