Oh my this is HARD!

I am Australian (Sydney via Brisbane) but currently living in London (loving it except for the weather, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!) EDIT: It is hot-ish now!!! (May 2008!) I am a lawyer but saw the light a few years ago and am now enjoying working in policy.

I am very new to photography and find it incredibly frustrating but oh so addictive (rather like golf??!). I picked up our point and shoot camera in July last year (2007) and decided to actually think about what I was taking rather than just "banging off a few rounds" and hoping for the best as was my normal style. I have a loooooooooooooong way to go but am enjoying the journey and the incredible learning curve.....

EDIT: Well, I thought I had better edit my profile since I now have my swishy D200 (thank you Mr Messy!!!!!) I have been using this little beauty since mid April 2008 and can't ever imagine being without a DSLR again. Love it!

My dream camera? A Hasselblad H3D-II (oh my, what a camera- I get chills just thinking about this beast)

Every day I am so inspired by the images I see on Flickr-if I can become even half as good as some of the photographers featured, I will be ever so pleased!

p.s. My real name is Vanessa (which gets shortened to Ness, Neddy, Nessy etc) but the daughter of one of my good friends couldn't pronounce Nessy and came up with Messy instead!
