Biography:

I was born on June 19, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of five my father gave me a Browning box camera for a field trip to Metropolitan airport. It was at that time that my passion for photography started to grow. I have completed several classes at the Center for Creative Studies (CCS) where I studied alternative printing and lighting. I have attended numerous workshops throughout my career on photographic technique. In 1992, I started Color Impact. My goal was to produce high quality work in a full service studio. My forte is fashion, glamor, and nature.

    melodysr says:

"I had the pleasure of working with Jim today as his makeup artist, hair stylist, wardrobe coordinator & assistant-making sure everythink on the model was shot ready (since I am a very amateur photographer.) although we hardly new each other, i was instantly at ease, He was timely (as was his model), well organized & very hospitable. He knows his stuff & has a great eye for what looks good. The studio in his home was well equipped & I also liked the fact that he allowed me artistic freedom. Even though I am a newbie to photograph, he welcomed my suggestions for poses, angles etc. I am so looking forward to working with Jim many more times-I know i can learn so much from him-he's a master with light & an asset to the photographic community.."
