My home is in a village between Hamburg and Lübeck.





" Ich dachte immer, dass gute Fotos guten Witzen ähnlich waren. Wenn Sie es erklären müssen, ist es gerade nicht dass gut.

Manchmal ist es interessant, die Geschichte hinter dem Foto zu hören, und Sie sehen das Foto in einem neuen Licht. Aber ein Foto sollte nicht eine Geschichte brauchen, um es zu verstehen. Es muss für sich selbst sprechen.

“ I always thought good photos were like good jokes. If you have to explain it, it just isn’t that good. –
Sometimes it is interesting to hear the story behind the photo and you see the photo in a new light. But in most cases a photo shouldn’t need a story to back it up. It has to speak for itself.






Ein gutes Foto ist ein Foto, auf das man länger als eine Sekunde schaut.

A good photo is a photo at which one looks longer than one second



Zum Reisen gehört Geduld, Mut, Humor, Vergessenheit aller häuslichen Sorgen,
und dass man sich durch widrige Zufälle, Schwierigkeiten, böses Wetter,
schlechte Kost und dergleichen nicht niederschlagen lässt.

Patience, courage, humor, oblivion of all domestic worries belongs to the travelling,
and that one to itself by adverse chances, difficulties, bad weather,
bad food and the like does not allow to knock down.



Man ist glücklich verheiratet, wenn man lieber heimkommt als fortgeht.

One is happily married if one rather comes home than goes away.
