I'm looking for the stuff that few people get to see. To visit the forgotten places, the abandoned places, the interstitial places. Crawl into the cracks of our modern world with my camera and extract an image, a piece of what remains there, hidden. The experience and feeling that I get in these places is as important as the photos I take. There exists a level of solitude in abandoned places that I don't find elsewhere. There's also the sense of an unseen, roiling, submerged energy, present just under the surface of reality, that attracts me and keeps me going back.

Oh, and my profile image is a piece done by the graffiti writer Read More Books, also known as Reader, Mr. READ, Read Up, Bones, Oye etc.
My profile pic was taken by me at a sentimental abandoned spot where they used to store all the old junked muni cars down in China Basin that I started hanging out at about 12 years ago. That picture has sense been covered over with steel trench plate since it was slightly underground. I'm not trying to bite, it's more of a respect thing. He shows up in some of the places I go to photograph, plus I read A LOT of books since I don't watch TV. Let's just say I'm a fan. If Mr. READ ever sees this, please contact me. I'd love to do an underground interview.
