I took my first night photograph in early 2006, ever since then I've been hooked. I am 100% self taught, I bought a camera with no prior knowledge of photography whatseover. However it's very important to say that my work was not self inspired. A lot of night photographers forget (or are unaware) how they're even shooting right now - it's because of people like Steve Harper, Troy Paiva and Tim Baskerville : The Nocturnes.
In 2006 I was captivated by The Nocturnes, photographers such as David Baldwin, Lance Keimig and Sean McHugh - disappointingly, names people on this website have never heard of. I guess what I'm trying to say, if you're a new school night photographer (like me don't worry!), trace this thing back to it's roots before you start preaching (like I do!). Everything you've done was done a century ago....trust me.
This is not directed at one person, it's just from my experiences over the past 5 years there are a lot of 'funny' people in this game haha.
