Having shot film for many years, I bought myself a small digital camera towards the end of 2003 – What a revelation! The ability to see immediately what you had taken was tremendous, but most of all, putting the pictures on the computer, with all that entailed in terms of adjustment and manipulation, was just extraordinary! Needless to say, I’ve never looked back!

That first camera, although very expensive, was simple by today’s standards. Nevertheless, I owe it a debt of gratitude for reinvigorating my interest in photography.

My subjects tend to be landscapes, still-life arrangements and anything close to the ground, such as flowers or scattered leaves. In all these areas, it is the relationship between colour and form and most of all light which, for me, is of paramount importance.

I am constantly amazed by the skill, creativity and inventiveness of the photographers who post their pictures on flickr. A pleasure to view, and always new things to learn!

(legal note :- the copyright obtaining to my pictures belongs to me – If you use them elsewhere, please get my permission first. Thank you). Sorry for the formality - but you know how it is!.

"David's photographs are of the highest quality, he doesn't post too many, but when he does .....

To me, they all have a particular quality, they are considered, not rushed, I suppose in some ways like a painting, as if a lot of time and thought has gone into their composition and camera settings. His comments on my photos are always detailed and thoughtful, and I am very happy that I have discovered him as a photographer. I admire his work - simple as that.

    Canon-Girl says:

"For a long time I wanted to write a testimonial about one of the VERY best photographers here on Flickr. So here it is. David, is no doubt, the 'Master of Light'. His technique of photographing still life is of the highest standards. But apart from being an excellent photographer, he is also kind with his comments, generous with his advice and supportive of those (like me) who are less technical-minded.

So thank you, David. For the support that improved my photography, for the encouragement that helped me to produce better photos and simply for being here. For being a friend."
