I like all kinds of photography. Have always thought every mind is a universe. There is people that like flowers, or kids, or landscapes, or black and white. Some like photos straight from the camera, some, highly processed images. So I respect every way of thinking, and every way of seeing or capturing images. Tolerance to difference is cool. Intolerance is not. The first creates; the later limits, restricts, impoverishes. As there is no such a thing as a “right” religion, or a “right” political orientation, there is no “right” way of being creative. Cavemen used vegetables and mineral dyes, Renaissance sculptors used marble, Impressionists canvas and oil based pigments, we use digital photography, Photoshop, HDR….. or not.
My goal is to learn, to enjoy, to create beautiful images, to make good friends….

I did all my shooting with Olympus cameras up until April 2011. I tried a Nikon D7000….. and I just switched. The ability to capture dark scenes, at high ISO while holding details and capacity for enlarging without losing detail, excited me!. I shoot Nikon 35 mm film cameras when I was a teenager, so I am not new to the brand. The SB-900 flash is a marvel, and so is the 50mm 1.4 G lens….. I am more than pleased.
Of course, that is just my appreciation. The photos I am more satisfied with were all taken with my Olympuses, I will see what I can do with my new toy…..


I also use an Olympus SP570uz, a cross between a compact and a SLR. A compact, take everywhere, high performance beauty. It is always in my backpack, so many of my favorite, most spontaneous pictures have been taken with this one.
Also, being an amateur photographer for years, I shoot more than my share with film. I am the proud owner of an Olympus OM1n, a mechanical, all manual jewel, by the Japanese genius Maitani.

I wasn't using Photoshop, what a caveman, right? But I know better today, I bought Elements 9, and I think it is a marvel!
Aaaaand..... lately I been using the wonder called Photomatix Pro 3, for HDR. This program, and Elements 9 are the dynamic duo of photography.

So, I keep trying, learning....
