I have been a member of the Flickr since December 2006. My introduction to this inspirational global community was through my son Brian. He is relatively new to photography yet motivated a creative epiphany in me that burns bright today! For this I am truly grateful!

"John Phillips photostream fascinates at first sight. His playful handling of creative and artistic elements shows the large experience which he possesses with the medium photo. Very impressive is his handling of light. He understands well to let step light and contrasts into a perfect interrelation.

With the overlay of image planes and textures he creates a rarely seen depth. What delights me in again and again, is his sure feeling for colors and the subtle combination of them.

These are never multicolored or overloaded, but refine the picture to a meaningful totality. The safe hand of John Phillips continues in the choice of the frames and image details: Strong compositions, airy but never coincidentally. That he puts large consideration in the composition can particularly be seen in his superb macros.
