DelioTO - View my recent photos on Flickriver

It was only recently that I decided it was time for me to take up pin-holing. After thirty years amusing myself with lens photography while working and travelling in my day job as a professional engineer, I viewed photography as a pastime in my retirement with somewhat limited enthusiasm.
I design and make my own cameras, or modify vintage folders. This satisfies the engineering left in me and offers some certainty that the tools will work before I commit to the creative part of the process.

The work horses are:
4x5's with the following focal lengths:
f140, L=21mm,d=0.150, 140 deg diagonal view.
f175, L=35mm, d=0.200mm, 130 deg. diagonal.
f250, L=75mm, d=0.300mm, 90 deg. diagonal.
f285, L=114mm,d=0.400mm, Curved neg. 65 deg. diagonal.
f317; 8x10 ,L=95mm ,d=0.300 Mostly used with X-Ray films.
All designed by myself and made in wood, metals, and foam board.
A modified Agfa 6x6 Isolette II, f127, L=28mm, d=0.22, 113 deg. diagonal.
A modified Zeiss 6x9 Ikonta, f273, L=111mm, d=0.40, 51deg. diagonal.

I have others, but to spare myself embarrassment shall not elaborate further.
The color negatives are developed by a local photography laboratory; I develop all the black and white negative film. Scanning and most of the printing for smaller sizes is done digitally at home; for larger size prints, good photographic labs are not far away.

Among six others great pinholers of the Marche region in Italy. I just wish that these fellows would start posting their work on Flickr. Well maybe this is going to spur them up a bit. :-) :-)

    integrity_of_light says:

"Delio is one of my "grand master of the pinhole camera" friends, and I respect his work across a wide spectrum of techniques, including cameras, films, papers, and processing. His work spans a huge spectrum -- the widest I have ever seen in a single pinhole photographer, and I appreciate his work, and his friendship, greatly. I look forward to seeing his photos, cameras, and adventures for many years to come! Thanks for sharing with us here, Delio! :)"

End red China's shameful occupation of Tibet says:

"Not only does he read Dante in the original language, but Delio is also the man who, like a modern day da Vinci, combines science with art. I have always thought that to Delio science and art are inextricable and interdependent, and you have the proof in his careful yet vibrant images right here on flickr.

You would have to search long and hard before you find someone to rival his helpfulness and readiness to share the wisdom he has acquired.

As a photographer, Delio has style and flare finding poetry others would never notice.

Where ever he can find time to also scale mountain tops I do not know, but I say “Hats off to Delio!!"
