Flickr is a creative global forum for a plethora of image makers. I have been inspired by the diversity of talent that is available at the flick of a click - please check out my "faves" folder to see what I mean.
Flickerites are also supportive and encouraging and this has been immensely helpful to me as I Flickr when I can.
My flickr screen name, Leannai Lir, comes from ancient Celtic mythology and translates as the Children of Lir, a sad & wonderful tale of 4 children turned into swans by their jealous step-mother whose beautiful singing voices haunted the shores of Lough Derravaragh for 900 years. The methaphors of captivity and escapism is somewhat a bit of black irony in this tragic legend but it is a wonderful tale and has been a favourite of mine since I was a child.
