I live in Port Elizabeth, Province of the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

I like a reporter-style of photography, ranging from architectural to street-photography. My post-processing is minimalist, generally. No great art intended.

My first Olympus SLR, an OM-1, was bought in 1977. Since then I've been using Olympus SLRs - 2 OM-1's, an OM-2, and an OM-10.

My digital life started with an Olympus 3000Z (3 megapixels, fantastic little camera, image quality-wise). In 2006 I bought an E-500 with the two-kit lenses. In June 2010 I added an E-30.

Why Olympus?
The OM-series was sturdy, small and compact with excellent lenses. Digital: I set out to buy a Canon Rebel, but was drawn to Olympus all over again. The dust-removal system, brilliant lenses (even the kit ones), general design, approach to practical photography, the 4/3rds format, etc. won me over. There is something like an Olympus-personality, I think!

Looking forward to 50-200mm is the distant future, but only if Olympus adds a new 4/3rds DSLR to the line-up as an upgrade to the E-3/E-30.
