One of my many Interest is Community and Heritage. I am Secretary of Ballyfermot Heritage Group Dublin 10. I have so many great memories of growing up in Ballyfermot which I have wrote about. The Book is called Growing up in Ballyer in the 50s 60s and 70S it was launched in the Civic Centre in Ballyfermot in May 2004 and all proceeds from the sale of the books went to Grainne Farrell and her Family formerly of Cherry Orchard whoes beloved Partner and Father Thomas Farrell died tragically in December 2003. This book is in the Dublin Libraries

Also another book I wrote was the History of Ballyfermot from the begining of the Ballyfermot Housing Estate in 1948. This Book is called Ballyfermot Building a Community 1948 to 2006 it was launched in the Mansion House in Dublin in June 2007 by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Vincent Jackson. All proceeds from this book went to the Senior Citizans of Ballyfermot, Nial Mallon Building Fund, and to some of the Schools and Clubs in the area. This book can also be obtained in the Dublin Libraries.

I have also added to this site photos from St Marks Parish in Tallaght. The Springfield Housing Estate will be 40 years built in 2012 and I am hoping to put a history of the area together. I am always looking for both new and old photos and also any information of both Ballyfermot and St Marks. So if you feel you are able to help please contact my e mail address
