Historic Spanish Point, a 30-acre archaeological, historical and environmental site, is owned and operated by the Gulf Coast Heritage Association, a private, not-for profit organization. The first site in Sarasota County to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it connects you to 5,000 years of Florida’s inspiring past by exploring prehistoric Indian mounds, pioneer era buildings and the colorful gardens of Mrs. Potter Palmer. The museum located on the shore of Little Sarasota Bay will enlighten you. Discover a large butterfly garden, nature trails through unique environments, maritime exhibits, and watercraft demonstrations.
The Visitors Center offers a Museum Store with Florida themed educational items. Be sure to enjoy the Exhibit Gallery featuring stunning art by local artists, or informative historical displays.
