  "Jon was one of my first Flickr contacts and has since become my closest and most devoted Flickr Friend. I anticipate his visits and I am always rewarded with insightful, sincere and encouraging comments. I was new to digital photography when we met, and with great patience, Jon has taught me much through his generous sharing of information and his honest approach to his own work. Prefering the natural state of photos, Jon's own are mostly straight from the camera. This says a lot about how he approaches his art, preferring to focus on compositions of his own creation, and camera techniques that are borne of the equipment itself. Always experimenting, Jon's work often surprises me with explosions of light and colour or extreme macro shots that border on the abstract. His photos often focus on the beauty and fragility of nature, demonstrating a sensitive, poet's touch. Jon's collection of nautical and architectural shots reveal his reverence for history, and are always accompanied with fascinating, historical information.
  
  I am continually inspired by Jon's work and appreciate his skills as a photographer, but what drew me to his stream in the first place was his rich sense of humour and his innate sense of curiosity. Here was an intellect with whom I could identify and also share some light-hearted fun! No one's comments, or titles on Flickr are wittier, and I appreciate Jon's brand of humour which is balanced artfully with great respect.
