"This work (particularly later pieces) suggests to me visual articulation rooted in filmic sexuality, that exaggerated and sugared aestheticizing of desire. It is beautifully actualized and devotedly references various periods of cinema with a masterful grasp of form and technique. But this might be limited to the level of well-played mannerism were it not for the punctuated nuance--evidence of more sophisticated perception and awareness--that plays around the edges of this as a stylistic construct. I always enjoy looking for this reason."
