For over a decade, the Foundation for Feline Urban Rescue (FFUR) has been working to reduce the number of stray cats and kittens in Philadelphia by trapping, rescuing and placing cats/kittens in good homes. We are devoted to giving these animals a second chance at a healthy, contented life with loving people.

FFUR is a team of just four volunteers. Together we test, treat, spay and neuter all the cats/kittens we rescue. All injuries are treated. Every cat is treated for fleas and other parasites. Each cat receives all their vaccines. Each cat is spayed or neutered. All these treatments are essential to maintaining the health of the cat. It is an expensive service that costs between $500 and $1,000 per cat. All the costs are paid for by the FFUR volunteers and through donations.
