I started as a birder, so I've been photographing nature, especially birds, for a number of years, although more steadily for the past five or six years or so. Central and South America are my wife's and my regular foreign vacation destinations for birding and nature photography (with the exception of Iceland and Alaska, and Antarctica, which don't fit the pattern). Shooting all Canon digital gear: 7D and 1DM4 for bodies. 500mm f/4, 400mm DO f/4, 300mm f/4, 1.4X telextender, 70-300mm DO, 180mm macro, 100mm macro, 17-40mm, and 17-85mm for lenses.
