  "For over 6 months I've called this brilliant photographer Machang because I thought that the sheer brilliance belonged to a Man. Why? The vast majority of great photographers in Sri Lanka are males. Well I was shocked to find out that "Hiranya" was a "FEmale" (and utterly embarrassed!). So, I promptly stopped calling her Machang, but my opinion of her photography hasn't changed. Day by day, I'm impressed by the talents of this lady.
  
  IMHO I think that Hiranya stands as one of the best in preserving our culture and heritage. (if you don't believe me check out her photo stream) She should be the official photographer of Sri Lankan heritage.
