In 2007, we bought our house in central Iowa (middle of the midwest USA) with plans to turn the property into our dream of a hobby farm. Our initial goal was to get the horse out of the boarding stable and home with us. With no country living experience, we were faced with a challenge and somewhat of a culture shock. Not long after bringing our horse home, we added more horses, dogs, goats and now llamas.

My husband and I both come from highly technical backgrounds and our careers take over much of our time.
On evenings and weekends we trade the urban corporate scene for life on our hobby farm.
