Hi,

Something about me.

I started taking pictures of flowers and got closer and closer so I ended up doing macros. I also love taking pictures while sailing so there's a field for landscape and than came architecture and stairs especially so you'll find quite a mixture of subjects on my stream.

I hope you enjoy looking at it.

Some sort of update.
I joined Flickr in July 2007 when I was shooting with a compact camera (my beloved Pentax Optio WPi) and after a weekend where I had the chance to try out the DSLR of a friend of mine I thought it's far too heavy, big, complicated, whatever for me and I'd stay with my trusted compact.
Well, six months later I bought my first DSLR (the Olympus E-420) and again a 18 months later the E-620 I still use today. Plus various lenses. I still use a compact although now it's a Pentax Optio W80 (plus my new hardly tested Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10).
I'm still not that much into editing although by now I always check the horizon and the brightness and colours. And I crop.
But there's hardly a picture where I clone things out. I just don't want to do it. This is fine for me. At the end, it was like that when I saw it. So why change it?

Edit: I now started using LR3, which is new to me and still quite confusing but I hope I'll learn how to use it. (Still no cloning though.) (March 2011)

I'm very thankful for my contacts who make being on Flickr so much fun and inspire me with every upload they add. So: Thank you all my contacts! I learned a lot about photography through your comments and your pictures, your advice and your hints.

Something that seems to be important:
I read all the comments you write under my pictures but I hardly answer right there. If you've got a question I'll write my answer in a flickr-mail or in a comment on one of your pictures. It's just that not all of my contacts come back to re-read and so this way of doing it seems better.

An article I really found interesting you'll find here written by Ken Rockwell

"I'm happy to got to know Katrin some months ago. She is a very happy and honest person who appears always with a charming sense of humour. She started with snapshots but over the time she improved her way of taking photos with huge steps. Her photos are beautiful, seen with a special eye for details and presented in a wonderful way. Keep up your work and become even better. You are on a good way!

    Yours,
    Melanie"
