Shannon is an artist who, i think, out of some deep seated nostalgia for the toys of his youth, chose Lego as his medium. And since then has been attacking them like Pollack or Van Gogh attacked canvas. He didn't throw away the rule book, he doesn't even seem to know there ever was one. He's not trying to recreate something palpable he saw or imagined. He's trying to express something he felt.
