I am 72 and retired at 67 after breaking an ankle.
I started taking photos with a cardboard box camera aged about 11 and then used a 1/4 plate camera which used glass negatives loaded one at a time! A brief foray into 8mm filming and then onto a Minolta 35mm camera. Now using a Nikon D80 with a kit 18-135 zoom lens. Would love to use a large prime lens - perhaps one day!
Regretfully I have caught the dreaded flickritis - there are so many brilliant photos, particularly birds and wildlife, and so many lovely people contributing. Time just flashes by, but what pleasure!
It seems that many people just load their better (excellent) photos onto Flickr. I am using it more as an album so allsorts are being added.
Flickr is a great photo sharing community and so many people now seem to be "friends" from whom I am learning so much!
It seems that I am appearing to make up a "portfolio" of Sutton Park and Pype Hayes Park as these are the areas I usually take my dog, Zak, for his walks.
I tell my sons that my poor efforts make other peoples photos look even more brilliant but I am pleased with my sister's comment that she doesn't know what to expect next!
