following the lines of Debord

Down with the Spectacle. Its essence and purpose is complacency and conformity. Its principle is of nonintervention; it is the enemy of the confrontational. It produces an endless line of zeros alienated from one another. Destroy the hero for he is the Spectacle’s guardian. Let him not be the conduit of humanity for he is a myth, a character in a fantasy world. Any origins of his humanity have been distorted or veiled to give one perspective, that the hero’s deeds are beyond the capability of but a few. This is a lie. You are as capable as you let yourself be. Do not let the hero rob you of your life by letting him live vicariously for you. I plead with you to live as the example of how to live; to love as the example of how to love; and create as the example of how to create. For there are no rules, only consequence. There is the consequence of how your actions reflect upon you and the consequence of how your actions reflect upon those who are exposed to them. Consider how your actions might inspirer others to act. Then consider how their actions might inspire you to act. Understand, by acting one increases not only his/her own life, but also the lives of those who are exposed to his action. This is done by suppressing the amount of the mediocre in lives of those who witnesses it. Therefore the more people who are affected by action the more of life is collectively lived. The revolutions of art will not happen in the gallery for the effects of action could never resonate with those who seek to cataloged, contained, and sell it. The pedestal on which art is placed in the gallery makes it the Spectacle and robs it of its essence. It is in the street that we will find the revolution! For I tell you now, with absolute certainty, a spectacle is one thing in nature; but a situation is much more than that.
