Frontend Manager
Starting immediately, we are looking for a talented engineering manager to join the emotional world of Flickr Frontend Engineering.
If you love leading engineers while still being involved in writing and architecting code, then we want to talk to you.
We have a track record of innovation to build on and a strong desire to radically improve Flickr, both for new users and casual visitors as well as the power users who form the core of the community. There's a tremendously long list of new features, programs and technologies set to come online this year. Chris Berry, expert on parsing Exif in the client
Phil Dokas, expert on browser performance and prolific GitHub contributor

Trevor Hartsell, expert on JavaScript architecture and writer of excellent blog posts
Scott Schiller, creator of the Uploader Grid and expert on Web Audio
Stephen Woods, expert on creating responsive touch interfaces
Attributes of successful candidates will include:
- Expertise with JavaScript in the browser
- Thorough and recent experience with HTML and CSS
- Demonstrated development team building and people management skills
- Demonstrated ability to attract and retain top engineering talent
- Strong leadership and excellent general management skills
- Strong project-management skills and proven track record for product delivery
- Strong visual design sense and excellent taste
- Long-term product vision and good ideas for where Flickr should go in the future
Responsibilities of the position will include:
- Manage complex projects and a team of frontend engineers
- Achieve measurable results in engagement, monetization, system availability, site performance
- Work closely with engineers when they need your eyes on the code
- Help engineers improve by providing frequent constructive feedback
- Recruit senior and principal level frontend engineers
- Coach and mentor junior talent and grads
Bonus:

- Academic background in computer science (BSc or MSc)
