The iPhone does not support Flash Video, which is the type of video streamed on Flickr.

Same here. They serve non-flash versions to iPhone users. But it's been busted since I upgraded yesterday.

There's a compatibility issue on the 3.0 update that we are discussing with Apple. Consequently, playback has been disabled for iPhones while this is being investigated.

Hi gonnahavemesomefun, sorry about that. Just to repeat from earlier- "Consequently, playback has been disabled for iPhones while this is being investigated. " So, it's not playing for anyone's iPhones at the moment.

i'm an artist and have a project comprised of a number of short films based on my paintings and some audio - my whole project was focused on mobile, on the iphone - i built the project on flickr because of the iphone / flickr video compatibility - now that the videos don't play on 3.0, it has seriously effected my project ...
is this an apple issue or a flickr issue?

Kevin said "There's a compatibility issue on the 3.0 update that we are discussing with Apple. "
Apple updated something. It broke the previous compatibility with Flickr.

Is there no way Flickr can keep it working with non-3.0 whilst they find a fix?

I was wondering why Flickr video playback became suddenly unavailable on the iPhone. It was already very good, maybe it will be even better after the comparability issue is rectified.

You will have to ask Apple.

I'm confused, I haven't changed or updated anything on my iPod Touch.
If Flickr have made a change to cope with 3.0 can't they reverse that change until Apple do whatever they need to do?
At this rate I'm going to move to Picasa :(

Apple made a change when they updated 3.0. Not Flickr. There's nothing for Flickr to reverse.

@gonnahavemesomefun- "I'm confused, I haven't changed or updated anything on my iPod Touch."
I mentioned that above- playback was disabled for all iPhones while the issue was being sorted with Apple. In any event, the problem is likely going to be fixed soon, so hang on to your hats! :)

Just discovered this thread. I e-mailed help about this, but I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one with this issue.

I just want to note that I'm using Mobile Fotos for my Flickr account on my iPhone (great app), and I can playback Flickr videos through it. ;-)
