Jing screencast transcode bug: Video plays sped up

RodBegbie  Pro User  says:

Howdy chaps!

I've just uploaded a screencast video I recorded using Jing Pro (http://www.jingproject.com/).

If you see it here on Flickr, the video is sped up, Benny-Hill-chase-style, while the audio plays at normal speed. Compare with the original.

Any chance you can fix it so the video and audio are "in" "sync"?

Cheers,

Rod.

Strangely, I hear no audio on either your original or the flickr version.

No sound for me on either video. I'm using Firefox on a Mac.

I know you didn't ask for a critique but, from an aesthetic POV, I don't think sound is really going to add much - yakety sax or otherwise :-)

I'm using FF on a Mac here, and I hear background noise (white noise) with both videos, and the play rate is the same on both.

Yes, it's easy to notice when you see how many seconds before the end of the clip in which the BSOD appears. I hear the sound as well (just background noise as zyrcster noted) but we'll see if we can have that fixed up with Yakety Sax just to make sure the presentation is nicer. (har har! :)

Anyway, we'll report this to the devs, it seems almost like the flip version of the Donald Duck video that CE linked to above- where the sound is sped up, but the video is normal.

Im having the same issue. When I post a video 640x360 Sorenson mpg4 codec with a frame rate of 23.98fps The audio and video are way off. This happens every time upload.

Could it be that the transcoding that Flickr does makes the video 30fps and leaves the audio alone making the video play faster?
