Can someone please undo this? I really really don't like this new lay-out. I heard other people that they tried it. But never new I was gonna be forced to use it. Just a moment ago the new lay-out appeared and I can't undo it anywhere..... Again, I really really don't like it.

Can this little blue field that now appears under Recent Activity have a checkbox put on it to make it go away?
"This is your new Recent Activity on Flickr. You can modify what shows up here by tweaking your activity settings."
I appreciate that this is the best way to communicate to everyone how they can tweak their settings, but it's a bit intrusive.

I completely agree with Darren C. that functionality is completely broken now.
I liked having activity on my stream and activity on my recent comments separate. Now I just have to wade through a lot more stuff to see what is important to me. This is going to weigh heavily on my decision to continue my pro account or not.

websites should be intuitive. your little link about tweaking the recent activity is way too long and annoying.
i have many japanese friends who use this site and they already have trouble understanding how flickr works with groups, etc. i think you guys are on the wrong track

Why are you doing this? Seriously? Can't you see the amount of people that are baffled by the need to get this activity thing so wrong? People want to have two options; one that shows activity on your pictures and one that shows activity on your comments. You were flooded with negative feedback on your beta version and you've still managed to get it wrong!
Having "show activity on your comments" as a yes/no option is not the right way to provide people with what they want. Did you not read the pages of comments that you requested people to leave?

As a young person who's dealt with experiences like facebook and myspace, this new feed is tending to a more 'social' and up to date look at flickr. It reminds me too much of the creepiness of facebook. I prefer the last version, I also want an option to go back to the old flickr.

You havent listened to a single word the majority have people have said or asked for, so therefore your request for feed back was just a total waste of time !!! ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. I don't want to not give it a fair shake, but I am not liking that I can't tell which are comments on my photos now and which are comments on other peoples' photos. If you feel really strongly about showing them all on the same view, can you at least make them two different colors or something?

This really is pretty awful. It's been said before that people wanted their recent activity and the comments they made to be on different pages in fact as I recall most of the feedback forum said just that.
I liked it the way it was and to me I don't see this as an improvement.

Why, why???????, if you saw that so many people wanted the "recent activity" and "comment's you've made" separated, why are they still together??
I mean, at least for all the owners of a pro account like me, we are paying for a good service, and most of us asked for those two things to be separated, then you basically ignored us, then I suppose you don't care about our money.
Good to know it now that my pro account has one month left.

Ugh. While it's minimally easier to switch between comments I've made and recent activity on my own stream (compared to the initial implementation), it's still ridiculous to have them as one setting.
As far as I can tell, there's no way to ONLY show comments I've made - I either have my own activity among them, or don't view them at all.
I have always used separate tabs to keep track of these, one regularly, one frequently but not as regularly. Now, if I'm on top of my own activity, I still have to go BACK through that to get to the older updates on comments I've made.
What a hopeless mess.
(Nevermind that I really don't WANT to randomly rotate through every group I belong to - if you're going to force me to display images from all of them, could I at least choose which ones?)

As was asked, nay, demanded by many people in the beta test: give us an easy way to switch between "comments others made" and "comments I made" in activity. I do not want both types of comments in one list as it makes for an unreadable mess.

I really dislike this new homepage set-up as well. One of my favorite things about Flickr was ease of use and intuitiveness. This new way seems unnecessarily complex. Will there be an option to use the old layout?

I really really do not like this at all. Really. REALLY.
My OWN images are not on MY homepage. Huh? And after zillions of negative reactions, the recent activity remains combined. I want to keep track of the comments I've made, but I don't want them mixed in with the comments I've received. I can turn one off, or the other, or both...but all I really want to do is keep them separate!

EDIT: I know I posted here a few minutes ago, but I feel the need to stress my point further - The new home-page is utterly confusing and, in my opinion, a bit of a mess really. Everything is in the wrong place!
This change is not necessary and it is not welcomed.
Bring back the old homepage - or else I will leave Flickr when my account runs out next year!!

I would like the old homepage back - as a pro member that pays for the service why does the service get to dictate this change with no input from members! This new page is UUUGGGLLLYY and needs to go! I would like the old page back asap! The old page had class - this mess looks like a Shibuya billboard - too busy and obnoxious!

Tried this new page during the sneak peek, hated it, reverted to the old version and now it's back. :-(
The new page is a terrible design with poor usability. The old page was like the google homepage - simple and easy to absorb.
Please, please, please allow users to use the old page.

I'm not going to berate you guys, because I realize it's important for websites to update their looks sometimes, but I really liked the comments on my stuff and comments on other photostreams being separate. I always got excited when I had new comments, but now with it being altogether, I can never tell when it's for my stuff because I have so many POPULAR users in my contacts, and comments on their items force comments on mine out of view. I would like to respond to people who view my photostream, and I really can't do that now.
A new suggestion: I know you have a slideshow for items from contacts, but why not set it up so that we can look through these items at our pace, like a group pool?

So, based on all the feedback about Recent Activity, you all decided to change very little about from your initial (new) design - did I get that right?
If you don't change anything about the design, even based on lots of feedback about number of clicks, etc., then what is the incentive for anyone to test or give you feedback about future features/changes?

I played with the Beta half-a-dozen times. Always switched back.
Would have personally preferred the Old Page (w/mute) -- but it's something (like the last Big Change) I reckon I'll get used to and, hopefully, not even notice in a few month's time.
~ I'm not around very much these days, so this won't affect me as much as it might the really frequent and more active users.

It's disappointing you didn't listen to the feedback regarding separating comments made, when the new look was in test setup.
Yes I know you can tweak things in your settings, but if I untick that box, I can't see comments I've made at all. If you're going to keep it that way, can you at least put a link down the bottom where you can click on comments made. I really dislike the way it's setup at the moment.

Its too confusing having all comments listed together. I prefer having comments left for me, and comments made on other people's photos SEPARATE!! It looks like, overall, most flickr users agree with my view and opinion...
During the ''beta'' phase of the new homepage, many comments were left about leaving the several old functions easily accessable and available -- but it looks like Yahoo and Flickr decided to ignore the thoughts of its users...
I realize websites have to grow and evolve, but at least keep features that users like -- dont force feed us crap we have repeatedly said dont want....then again, if we don't like it...someone else will come up with a photo site that has the features we do like...and all the paying members will bail....and flickr will become the next fotolog.net...

I like it separate too. I am not one to stop change but people like what is comfortable and what they know. I'll compare it to this.....a reliable classic favorite brand changing their label. Stick with the original. This si too confusing and not user friendly.

* notes
* tags
Show when someone:
* adds you as a contact

The pages are loading MUCH too slowly now. The recent activity page includes my stats, which stops my browswer until it loads. Please add an option to switch back to the old and FASTER version.

Silly that a single home-page redesign can sour my experience at Flickr so much but it does. I tried the beta page when it was first available. Tried a few days, didn't like it, left my comments along with everyone else.
Now I sit here feeling that the thousands of comments regarding the recent activity were ignored. Very, very disappointed and this has certainly made me lose some faith & trust in Flickr.

THis is ridiculous - the new page is a mess and I am seriously considering removing my membership! I kid you not!! THis smacks of fascism - your own guidelines state that this community is meant to make members comfortable - this mess is decidedly uncomfortable! CHANGE IT BACK!!! I don't give a shit about new and numerous gewgahs - simplify it don't mess it up and make it confusing! I don't want to have to have a users manual to upload and share pics! THIS SUCKS !! Looks like the end of a lot of groups which rely on members being able to monitor the response to their work and awarding others. Anyone who actually likes looking at other photos and awarding them (like me) is not interested in all of the awards or comments that followed my comment. Sorry Flickr but life's too short.
This is change for it's own sake. All very flash but takes no account of how we use the site. The only winners in this are the 'hit and run' merchants who've been kicked out of so many groups. Looks like the alternative is for everyone to stay in their Home pages.

Some fool thinks they are improving flickr by changing everything and all they have done is caused confusion and dislike of the new flickr
I do wish that I had not paid for a pro account - I will not be renewing it if Flickr do not undo the rubbish they have they have just created
Flickr bosses read this thread - it takes a real man (or a real woman) to admit they made a mistake - just admit you got it wrong - sack the person who thought all this up and go back to the flickr your customers want (or are we a community if so lets have what the community want!)
