EXIF data unhides when I alter P&P settings

glass::ego says:

I had a mainstream pro account which I closed in November on which I found that my EXIF data would randomly/occasionally unhide itself even though I had always had it set to 'hide'. It was mildly annoying.... and I did see a couple of people mention it on here last year, but can't find the topics.

On this stream, tonight, I went to change my 'current city' in the 'Who can see what's on your profile' section. I saved that one change.... then went back because I made a stupid typo, to notice the 'Hide your EXIF data' bit had reverted to 'No' when I hadn't altered it from the 'Yes' I always keep on all my streams. I tried changing other things... but found the only time it changed to unhidden was when I altered any of the four sections of 'Who can see what's on your profile'.

It may explain why EXIF data suddenly shows up without specifically being changed.... but there may also be other changes you can make on account details that do it, too; I haven't checked.... I would be interested if others see the same thing...?

Privacy & Permissions settings in account details. Apologies... I shortened it for the title.

I just tested this using FF 18.0 and Windows XP and could not reproduce this bug.

I changed a few privacy and permissions settings, then refreshed the page and EXIF data was still hidden.

These type of weird changes do seem to be happening to just a few members and very random, but they are happening.

When it happens, which browser are you using and which operating system?

RubyMae: & ColleenM:

I"m on mac/Safari; both systems having been updated several times since I first noticed my EXIF data would suddenly become visible on my previous account, and that's going back a couple of years. I've logged out, cleared cache, cookies, turned the mac & router off, restarted everything, and the EXIF data still reverts to unhidden when I change any of the four 'Who can see what's on your profile' section. But then everything's been reset or changed in the time I've had this happen.

Pacdog:

I did have one image on one stream turn from 'friends only' to public. Luckily it wasn't anything too sensitive.... If you post anything online you have to accept what could happen.
But, no; like I've mentioned, I'm pretty sure this must be the reason the data has unhidden itself occasionally over quite some length of time.
It's not a vital issue, I thought it worth mentioning as it happens simulataneously with any changes on that section of my Privacy & Permissions.
