Share button doesn't work

davidecasteel says:

For some reason, although the Share menu button appears for my pictures, I can't bring it up. I tried changing my permissions from "All Rights Reserved" to one of the Commons versions and that didn't help. The Flickr Help says that I should always be able to use the Share Menu to get BB codes, but it doesn't work for me. What do I do? (The page shows my name as signed in.)

Try clearing your cache

Flickr FAQ: You've asked me to clear cache on a page or the browser - how do I do that?

Is it greyed out or do you just get the blue and pink infinitely spinning balls when you try to access the share menu?

I just tried accessing the share menu on one of your photos (the first one in your stream) and had no problem doing so. I'm using FF 18.0 on a PC with Windows XP.

Just for trouble-shooting purposes, have you tried a different browser?

The Share box is not grayed out and the pointer changes to a hand/finger when placed on it, but clicking does not do anything.

What browser are you using? What happens when you try a different browser?

I'm not having any trouble accessing the share options above your photo. For example, here's the HTML code from your latest upload

I don't have a different browser--I use IE. I just cleared my Internet files and did a total shutdown/restart and now the Share box is working. Now I'd like to put my pictures back to All Rights Reserved, but can't find the place to do that.

Hover your cursor over the "You" menu at the top of the page and select "Organize".

Drag all the pictures you want to change to "All Rights Reserved" from the bottom Findr ribbon into the work area.

At the top of that work area, click on the Permissions menu, and select Change Licensing.

Select the "none -- All Rights Reserved" option, then click "save".

All the images in the work area will now show as "All Rights Reserved" on your photostream.

Double check here to make sure you didn't accidentally set your future uploads to have a Creative Commons license:
www.flickr.com/account/prefs/license/?from=privacy

And next time, you can save yourself some time and hassles by clearing your cache first. Click the link in my first reply for instructions.
