Organizr doesn't find some photos.
|
|
Hello,
I am having a problem since the first day I started to use the Pro account. Some photos are missing, if I search the photo by name I can find it in my photostream without problem, but if I search the same photo in the Organizr says "We couldn't find anything matching your criteria."
I've asked to support, four cases the last month, they close the cases without any solution, only good words.
Is anything I can do to solve this problem? If the Organizr search is not consistent, Flickr is useless for me.
[edited] An example:

Thanks in advance for your advices, and sorry for my english.

It might help if you could provide a link to a photo that the Organizr can't find, but since you don't have any public photos, that isn't possible.

All your photos are private, so I cannot see them. Is it possible that the titles / search terms have diacritic signs or other non-standard english characters? (á, ä, â, ã, é, ë, ê, ç, í, ï, î, ñ, ó, ö, ô, ß, etc.)

Opening a new case is not the way to go. It is better to stick with a help case by referring to the case number. In that way every staff member can check what correspondence was done with you before.

Hello and thaks for your quick response, this is an example of photo that I can see in the photostream, but is "missing" in the Organizer, now is public:
www.flickr.com/photos/mmmfffbbb/8404530767/
Searching with the tags in Organizer has the same result.

Hi,
The photos are always named in the same way:
yyyy-mm-dd_hhmmss, an example: 2002-08-11_202237.jpg or
yyyy-mm-dd_number, an example: 2002-08-14_01, 2002-08-14_02 and so on.
This is an example of photo with this problem:
www.flickr.com/photos/mmmfffbbb/8404530767/
I've open several cases following the support instructions, the first case they said something about a "preventive maintenance" in my account and closed the case. I deleted my photostream and started from scratch.
The second time they told me to wait seven days to solve the problem, and instruct me to open a new case if the problem was not solved,
The third case was open and scalated, but no news since this case was open after two weeks waiting.
I always append the case numbers when I open a new case.
Thanks for your support .

Thank you for the effort, but the photo is still private , so it won't appear for me in a search, even with the Guest Pass. I wonder if the F.I.B. term is preventing the search from the Organizr? (I'm just guessing here).

OK, I can find that photo in a regular search -- the first return, in fact. But I have no way of checking using the Organizr, since it's in your account, not mine. Unless one of the other helpers has a clue, you'll probably need staff to take a look at it.

This is getting worse, yesterday I uploaded 59 photos, 3 of them are "missing" in the Organizer:
www.flickr.com/photos/mmmfffbbb/8466378684/
www.flickr.com/photos/mmmfffbbb/8465244343/
www.flickr.com/photos/mmmfffbbb/8466337772/
It is a nightmare, I can't add this photos to albums, and this is happening with only 400 photos loaded.

Do they *never* show in Organizr's filmstrip? Or do they only not show when you search for them?
(The default appearance of Organizr's "Findr" bar is to show all of your images, the most recently uploaded should appear first.)
* While waiting for this to be fixed, can't you add them to sets ("albums") as you upload? Flickr's upload interface has an "add to set" dialog built in.

i think you need staff's assistance. I used the title of your example of yesterday (2002-08-11_14) as title of photos in two different accounts. Those titles I put on the photos yesterday, I just tried a search in both accounts for it, first with the organizr than on my photostream. All four searches gave the involved photo.

You don't need Organizer to add photos to sets. You can do it from the photo page.

Good clue, I have checked that if I look for the missing pics I can find it in the filmstrip in the Organizer, I will pass this info to the support staff.
Thanks.

Yes, is an option, thanks for the trick.
I can do it because there is only 400 photos right now in my photostream, but I have more than 9.000 waiting to be loaded, and I don't want to review how many pictures are "missing" in the Organizer.
Thanks again.

Organizer lets you select only photos not already in sets

Patrick Costello:
My first idea was to make a bulk load, all my pics to the photostream, after I need a reliable search engine for the name of the photo and the tags, without need to review the Organizer filmstrip looking for missing pics.
Perhaps I need to change my point of view, if the support staff doesn't catch the problem.
Thanks to all for your advices.
