I'm having the same problem and it is an issue with Flickr, not blogger. I don't know why this is happening, since all of my pictures are uploaded to flickr, and then used on my blog.... I'd like to be able to have people pin my photos too, either from my blog or flickr - I don't care which at this point, but the problem is definitely with flickr.

Flickr hosted images must have a link back to flickr. Are you doing that? Somewhere on the page that shows your image is there a link to the flickr photopage?

I'm having the same issue trying to pin things from my blog with my flickr pictures. All my settings are correct. I hope it's just a glitch with flickr and it gets fixed soon. I NEED TO PIN!!!!!

Here too - does anyone have an answer yet??? Photos are set to public on Flickr, yet showing as not able to be pinned via browser bookmarklet when on my blog post page.
They were able to be pinned as of yesterday. Please advise asap.

Are you working on this? The bug says dates through 2/7, but even pictures I posted last night can not be accessed?

Yes, it must be Flickr because it's only happening with Flickr hosted photos. I can pin images hosted elsewhere.

I am having the same problem. Wordpress blog/Flickr photos only. Those uploaded direct to the blog are ok. But I can still pin the photos directly.
A massive proportion of my blog traffic comes from Pinterest and it has all but stopped today because of this. People have taken to pinning random logos off my site as they can't pin the photos! pinterest.com/source/thingswemake.wordpress.com/
I have posted a support request at Pinterest but have so far been fobbed off. Any news would be appreciated.

Hey all,
There were two separate issues affecting sharing between Pinterest and Flickr, both should now be fixed. One problem involved sharing of SSL (https) URLs on the Flickr side, and that should now be resolved.

I copy the the html code from the share button on flickr and copy it into my blog post. Before the earlier problem was resolved, private pictures would have a statement saying they could not be pinned while the pictures that were public did not have the statement. I have not changed any of the settings on my pictures knowing that there was an issue. Again, thanks for your help. Had no intent of spamming....apologies. Know you are all working hard to solve our problems.

That's not the same as "pinning". Copying the html will always work for any image on Flickr -- public or private, because it contains the exact location (URL) of the .jpg file.

I have a "Pin" button on my google toolbar. After my post has been posted if I try to pin a private photo I can and so can other people. I use the html link to create my post in blogger. Previously, before the earlier pinning issue today if I tried to "pin" a picture from my blog privates were blocked and public pictures could be pinned. Now all of my pictures public or private can be pinned this was not the case yesterday. My issue occurs when I use the "pin" button on my toolbar. I have also had someone else check this. I hope that makes sense, the issue is not with creating the post in blogger it is with pinning after the post is created. Thanks.

Ah now we're getting somewhere. A button on your browser is a 3rd party tool and not something from Flickr. So what you're seeing is an ability to pin images from your blog to Pinterest, via this 3rd party button, correct?
That is very likely not something Flickr can do much about, as it's happening completely outside of the site and with non-Flickr tools. Here on Flickr my Pinterest button is greyed out for private images.
When you use the html code you're simply displaying content on the internet, once it's outside of Flickr there is no concept of "private" or "public" anymore, your blog doesn't know what your Flickr settings were.
It's possible there was some element of that button or on Flickr that may have prevented that button from functioning in the past, and that's not working anymore. But it wouldn't matter I don't think, as I could still copy/pin/repost your blog content anywhere I want, with any number of other 3rd party buttons/tools, or manually by hand.

Nope. Still not fixed. I like pinning images from my Flickr account as a nice lazy way to add my name/credit to my photos, as well as provide a link to my albums. Today (2.16.13) I managed to get one pin of one of my pics onto my Pinterest page, but after that, I'm having no luck posting any more. All I see is the Flickr logo, and when I try to click the arrow, my picture doesn't even show up. 99 percent of my pics privacy settings are set to public, so I'm not sure what the problem still is. Hope Flickr and Pinterest are working on it...
