advertising is on my slideshows AGAIN!
|
|
In regard to the account for [removed by staff]
Hi. As you will see in the string of emails below, I have had the same issue before. I have paid for a Pro account, yet when I create slideshows they still have the Flickr advertisement.
I thought it was best to include our history on the problem so that we can save some time by not troubleshooting the same things. Please fix the problem and tell me why it is happening; what I need to do or what you need to do to keep it from happening when I make new slideshows.
I spent 1 1/2 hours trying to fix it myself in Flickr and could not find out what to do.
Thank you.
Megan

It IS your product I'm trying to use... www.flickr.com. The
problem is not on the end of my web site. It is on your end.
How do I get the flickr.com advertising to disappear from
the slideshows?

That's not an advertisement, and any use of Flickr-hosted photos off the Flickr website is required to link back to Flickr in any case.
If you want to have to visible trace of Flickr, you're pretty much going to have to not use it.

The slideshow still includes the required links for each image, as it's Flickr's slideshow anyway. This is however the first I think I've heard that the Flickr logo isn't included on pro-account slideshows.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe "advertisement" is the wrong word... it has Flickr's name on it. This was an issue that was dealt with and resolved before, so I know it can be resolved... just not sure how.
The name of the set, the user name and Flickr's name is layered on top of the first picture in the two new slideshows I created. Why on those and not the others? Here is a direct link to what I'm talking about if anyone can look at it and give me some insight: www.j-scapes.com/portfolio.html.
Thanks!

Can you give us a link to a slideshow on your site that doesn't have the Flickr logo?

In looking at the slideshows at the link you provide above, I do not see anything layered on top of the photos. Can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing?

On that page, there are five slideshows. Only the last two are using Flickr's code, and I see Flickr's logo and the set/user name layered on them (after I click 'play').
The first three slideshows are using a different slideshow code.
However, I do not see any advertisements on any of them.

As I noted to kmacgray above, the first three slideshows aren't using Flickr's current slideshow code. It's possible that's a very old version of Flickr's slideshow, or perhaps it's one created by a third party.
EDIT: It's a third party code, found here:

(I'm using the same site's slideshow for one of my own webpages.)

Glad I could help... I knew that code looked familiar, and flipped through some pages on my own site until I found my own old slideshow. :-)
